There's all kinds of depressed. Sounds to me like you're at least a little depressed, but if you've got a handle on it, that's all good then.

I’m grateful for this post. Summer is I season I also struggle to survive. The heat, the humidity, the slowness at work (also my slow season). Went through my worst season of depression and anxiety the summer of 2023. I, too, look to that time to help myself see and know that today, I’m okay. I hope you keep doing what you need to do to tend your soul and listen. Lying down in the dark with eyes closed or confessing to family what you need - both seem like a gesture of kindness to yourself. I applaud you for it.

Jeremy, this is fabulous. The past six years for me have been a journey of finding a vocabulary for my own emotions and experiences. Being able to name experiences like depression and anxiety have been immensely helpful, but I’ve also had times where I just feel… off, funky, not like myself. It’s harder to put words to those times, but I find it important to try to do so. Thank you so much for sharing those pieces of your own journey here. I feel a little less lonely in my own funk!

You say you forced yourself to write and publish to assert your sense of self, but these are your best posts. Very raw. Very real. Very human. I want to show you a poem I published that you might identify with. I'll find it later
